Dr. O’Connell contributes to several children’s education initiatives as a scientific advisor , writer, and illustrator.
Most recently, this includes providing scientific guidance and writing a foreword to the children’s comic book Awesome Amphibians by Liz Prince. This engaging and educational comic introduces young readers to the fascinating world of amphibians, fostering curiosity about biology and conservation.
